ANNUAL BIBLELAND EVENTS Agape Trail Monthly Bible classes for our 5th grade students as well as a spiritual retreat. As these students prepare for middle school, this series of lessons affirms and teaches. Parents must register their students for the spring retreat. A parents’ meeting is announced early each fall. The next Agape Trail Retreat is in April, 2009. Bibletimes Marketplace An every-other-summer event for students in 1st through 5th grades (completed). For three evenings, this special “camp” provides our students with an opportunity to experience what it could have felt like to live in Bible days…whether during the times of Jesus, Paul, or Moses. Created in the Oak Hills building, the Marketplace includes “tribes” or “families” who journey through experiences in shops such as pottery, rope making, woodwork, leather making, weaving, food, bread-making, jewelry making, and various other things. Bibletimes Marketplace will be our featured summer camp June, 2009. Registration for camp begins in April, 2009. Championship Village An every-other-summer event for students in 1st through 5th grades (completed). For three evenings, this special “camp” hosts a myriad of games and activities. With countries from all over the world represented, our students participate as team members with leader coaches. The experiences vary from visits with missionaries to drama to crafts. It is a great way to learn about being a champion for Jesus. Championship Village will be our featured summer camp June 2010 , 6:00-9:15 p.m. for elementary age children. Registration for camp begins in April, 2010. Easter Celebration Kids’ Praise Musical For students 1st through 5th grades. This annual presentation is an experience in which the students rehearse and produce a “show” while learning lessons of cooperation and teamwork. While learning Biblical principles of God’s grace and love, children are provided opportunities to work in large and small group settings. Many parents can be involved in donations as well as support teams to the musical. The Kids' Praise Musicals are presented on a November Sunday afternoon in the Worship Center at 4:00 p.m. Learning To Lead Camp An Abilene Christian University leadership camp for students entering 4th through 6th grades. Students will enjoy a one-week summer camp at the campus of Abilene Christian University. "Campers seek to identify, question, and apply principles of leadership to their own lives." For more information go to www.acu.edu/events/camps. Manos de Cristo (Hands of Christ) For all children. Shoe boxes full of small gifts are prepared by our children, presented in worship at the end of October, and sent to children in El Salvador and at the Christian Hope Resource Center in San Antonio. Our partnership with our El Salvador missionaries, Raphael and Sonia Rosales, benefits the children of El Sunza with Christmas gifts.
