Experience the “Orange” Family Study
 |
Through the Orange Family Study, parents are encouraged to be the primary leaders in the Spiritual Formation of their own children. Student Ministries and Bibleland will come alongside parents to equip them with the following weekly resources:
- Parent Talk (Early Childhood)
- Fridge Door Cards (Elementary)
- The Home XP (Students)
- Parent Link CD (Insightful thoughts on Parenting)
For additional information and training, we encourage parents to go to the following websites: orangeparents.org and whatisorange.org |
Check-In Process
All children age 3 months through 5th grade use the electronic security system for check-in to Bibleland classes. The system is very easy to operate and there are 11 Kiosk systems located throughout the upper mall and lower level foyer just outside the Bibleland wings. Parents will check-in their children at one of the Kiosk systems and ensure they get to class. Visitors are invited to come into our wings and be checked-in at the greeter desk. Children wait in class until parents pick them up and match the parent/child label with their classroom teachers. Parents need to pick up their children no later than 10 minutes after the end of class.
One of the priorities in our Bibleland Mission Statement is to Protect our children.
Thank you for sharing your children with us weekly in Bibleland. We love to teach them about Jesus and we want to be sure that we are doing everything we can to ensure Bibleland continues to be a safe and happy place.
15-Minute Guideline
For better QUALITY and SECURITY, we have established a 15-minute guideline. Children may be brought to class starting 15 minutes prior to the worship start time…and continues until 15 minutes into the actual class period. At that time, classes will close until time for the next class hour. This allows the class to “settle” and then “get into learning” for the last two-thirds of class time.
Student/Teacher Ratios
Please be aware that in order for us to comply with safety regulations and student/teacher ratios, our classes will close if we do not have enough adult volunteers. We ask for your understanding as this is in the best interest of your child.
Photographing and Videotaping
Please be aware that your child(ren) may be photographed or videotaped during normal activities for later use by Oak Hills Church.
Parent Volunteer Expectations
Due to large numbers of children age 3 months through 3 years old that are cared for and taught in our Bibleland classes, parents of children 3 - 24 months are asked to serve on a monthly basis and parents of 2s and 3s are asked to serve one month out of the year. A rotation schedule is mailed to parents. In the event you are not available to help during your scheduled time, please call (210) 698-4683 and leave a message.
Great Expectations Reception
All new, and new again parents are invited to attend this special presentation and reception to introduce our Bible Babies Nursery program. This presentation is hosted four times a year in the Bible Babies Nursery wing and gives parents an opportunity to see what their little ones will experience in Bibleland. A gift Bible and engraved baby spoon are presented to each baby to commemorate the occasion, and a special prayer of blessing is offered over our new little ones by our Elders. Upcoming reception dates are posted on the Bibleland Calendar. Parents are invited to attend one of the program offerings and register their child for the Nursery. Please RSVP to Gina Williams.
