In Bibleland Children’s Ministry one of our goals is to create an environment that communicates church is a safe and happy place for our children and their families. In an effort to accomplish this these security measures have been put in place:

Volunteer Policies
We screen all volunteers who work directly with children. The application process includes completing an application, an interview, reference checks, and a criminal background check. Our volunteers also have certain guidelines to follow when working with children such as the “two person rule” meaning that an adult is never to be alone with a child in any non-public place.

Safety Policies
We want to ensure that our children are safe when they come to church. We have a security system for checking and retrieving children from Bible class, and all of our approved staff and volunteers wear nametags. Instructions are given to volunteers for emergency situations.

Health Policies
We want all our children to be healthy, therefore, we have specific guidelines for parents to follow to assess their child’s health before bringing them to church. Parents should keep their children at home if they observe symptoms of illness:

Fever (99.1) or elevated temperature

Excessive coughing
Vomiting

Diarrhea
Discharge in or around the eyes

Questionable rash
Green or yellow runny nose

Any communicable disease

A child that is being treated with an antibiotic should have received treatment for a minimum of 24 hours before coming to church. All care givers and teachers should follow the same guidelines.

Security Check In
All children age 3 months through 2nd grade will use the security system for check-in and retrieval. A parent will check-in their child at the greeting area, receive a numbered tag and walk them to his/her classroom. Upon retrieval the parent will present the tag to the teacher to pick up the child. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTSANCES WILL A CHILD BE IMMEDIATELY RELEASED TO ANYONE WITHOUT THE SECURITY TAG. In the event a security tag is lost, the teacher will contact a Bibleland Children’s Ministry staff member. There is a $10 cost to replace a lost tag.

20-Minute Guideline

For better QUALITY and SECURITY, we have established a 20-minute guideline.  Check-in begins 15 minutes prior to the worship start time…and continues until 20 minutes into the actual class period.  At that time, classes will close until check-in for the next hour.  This allows the class to “settle” and then “get into learning” for the last two-thirds of class time.
